How to protect your E-mail IDs online

E-mails has been one of the popular mode of communication since the childhood days of Internet. It continues as a preferable mode of communication for official purposes. Even though social networks have managed to bite a big piece of cake from the E-mails, it manages to stand on its own feet.

One of the main issues associated with E-mails are spam messages. Spammers collect e-mail IDs from social networks, online discussion forums, chain mails, chat rooms etc. and use these information to send all those offers and malicious messages to you. Some simple good practices and little care can save you and your friends/colleagues from these mails.

1. Do not get involved in chain mails. If you really wanted to send a particular mail to many people, use Bcc field to put e-mail IDs.
2. Try not to post E-mail IDs directly in online discussion forums, comment fields etc.
3. Do not use your primary e-mail account ID to fill that gift voucher coupon in market.
4. If a particular website of no future benefits asks you provide your E-mail ID for registration, use disposable e-mail services.
5. If you really want to share your e-mail IDs on forums or chat, use services like ReCaptcha Mail Hide or Scr.im
